FAQ
-
What are these sculptures made from? All sculptures are made from low fire stoneware clay. They are finished with slips, stains, glazes and cold finish acrylic paint.
-
Why are some sculptures light and some are dark? The color depends on the type of clay used. A dark, earthenware clay, will be a brown beige or reddish brown. A white clay will fire as white.
-
How are pieces shipped? All clay sculpture, while sturdy, needs to be carefully protected when shipped. We use double boxing and packing material and include unpacking instructions in the box.
-
Do you accept commissions?Yes, we are happy to accept commissions. Just reach out and share reference photos and your budget and we can work together towards a custom sculpture for your home or garden.
-
Can these sculptures be outside? The pieces finished with slips, stains and glazes can be used outside. The ones with cold-finish acrylic will need to have a protective weatherproofing spray added to be displayed outside. We suggest that none of the pieces be outdoors above 100 degrees or below zero weather, and quick changes in weather can affect the natural stoneware. Stoneware is a natural substance that comes from clay, so it's not the same as glass or metal in an outdoor setting.
